Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Kimitsu Works is preparing for high molten pig iron tapping operating and enhancement of cost competitiveness setting as one of construction measure for medium-term management plan. The works will stop No.5 continuous caster in September 2014 and concentrate them to No.4 continuous caster. They plan to enhance competitiveness of items made in No.1 steel plant.
