According to the report, Sandvik signed an agreement to purchase the US-based Summerill Tube Corp. The company mainly produces high precision tubes, as well as providing stainless steel and nickel alloys seamless and welded tubes to industries such as aerospace, transportation and petrochemical.
Sandvik believed that the acquisition will raise the presence in the US market with profitable growth. After the acquisition, Summerill Tube will become a business unit specialized at the tube sector.
However, the purchase prices would not be disclosed and the transaction will be closed in early January 2020 and was subject to approval.
