The United States (US) has released a plan to levy a 25% tariff on Chinese imports which took effect on May 10th, and Chinese authorities have announced on May 13th to levy retaliatory tariffs on 6000 American goods since June. Among them, China would impose 25% tariffs on copper, zinc, nickel and aluminum and 10% tariff on lead.
Despite the tax rate of lead was the lowest, the decision would impact the exportation of lead concentrate in the US because the US’ lead concentrate was mainly exported to China.
If the tariff was effective, some mining companies might confront the challenge of destination in China.
