It was reported that the Dominican Antitrust Commission has launched an antitrust investigation on Gerdau Metaldom’s possible unfair pricing of rebar. It was said that Gerdau Metaldom sold its rebar at higher and non-competitive market prices.
The investigation of Pro-Competencia, the National Commission for the Defense of Competition, was a result of a complaint against Gerdau Metaldom filed by the local steel importers’ association ASOIMAD in December.
