Brazilian flat steel imports in 2015 plunge 29.6% YoY-The 17th China(Guangzhou )Int¡¯l Casting product Exhibition

Brazilian imports of carbon steel sheet products sank 29.6% year on year to 800,205 tonnes in 2015, data from the foreign trade ministry showed. In 2014, the country imported about 1.14 million tonnes of flat sheet goods.
Imports of hot-rolled coil during 2015 totaled 28,095 tonnes, 13.7% above the 183,001 tonnes registered a year before. Cold-rolled imports fell 35% to 315,964 tonnes from 486,650 tonnes in 2014. Imports of hot-dip galvanized products shrank 40.8% to 276,146 tonnes from 466,937 tonnes in 2014.
Total imports were valued at $473.62 million FOB. HRC represented $107.61 million FOB, CRC $180.36 million FOB and HDG $185.65 million FOB.
In December, Brazil imported 20,564 tonnes of flat steel products. HRC totaled 4,373 tonnes, CRC 6,523 tonnes and HDG 9,668 tonnes. In the month, total imports were valued at $10.96 million FOB ¡ª $1.93 million FOB were from HRC imports, $3.09 million FOB were from CRC imports and $5.94 million FOB were from HDG imports.
