CISA: US’ new tariffs to injure global steel industries-The 19th China (Guangzhou ) Int’l Casting product Exhibition

China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) said that the US’ new import tariffs based on Section 232, which was to protect the US steel products, went against the rules from WTO and disrupted the international trade order. The tariffs were not only harmful to global steel industries, but also injurious to the consumers of steel product, especially for the US’ consumers.
Recently, the EU also announced to launch the investigation of safeguard measures on steel imports after the imposition of the 25% tariffs on steel imports from the US. The CISA believed that the EU’s move would raise the unease and instability for the international steel market.
