The company halted metal pouring operations for two weeks in November for the installation.
“This new furnace will give us more size flexibility, and allow us to better serve many of our customers that have a demand for larger castings in steel, stainless steel, and high-alloy ferrous materials,” said Geoffrey Korff, president at Quaker City Castings.
“Now that the furnace is in place, we will begin installing a new high production moulding line, which will allow us to produce higher volume parts for some of our larger customers.”
The company also recently purchased a Bruker spectrometer for their metallurgical laboratory.
The new furnace capacity continues the trend of improvement at the foundry, which recently expanded its operation into two new buildings, bringing the total footprint of the company to 280,000 square foot. In addition to pouring steel and iron castings using the no-bake moulding process, QCC also operates a full-service machine shop and produces high performance cylinder sleeves and connecting rods under its ‘PowerBore’ brand. 铸件展-铸件采购会-国际铸件展-2017第十八届广州国际铸件展会-巨浪展览-The 18th China(Guangzhou )Int’l Casting product Exhibition
