London copper on Tuesday teetered near six-year lows hit in the previous session as the dollar gave up some gains, but the outlook for prices stayed poor given weakening Chinese demand growth for metals. Three-month copper on the London Metal Exchange was 0.4 percent higher at $4,510 a tonne by 0700 GMT. Shanghai Futures Exchange copper ended 0.56 percent down at 33,850 yuan ($5,298.42) a tonne.
Copper, aluminium and lead all hit their lowest in more than six years on Monday and nickel skidded to its weakest since 2003, as a firmer dollar ahead of an expected December US rate hike compounded the pressure from China''s ebbing demand.
