Peruvian Times reported that Peru’s government is banking on an increase in copper, zinc and silver production this year, which would help support a rebound in a sluggish economy.
Mr Edgardo Alva, the director of mining at the Mines and Energy Ministry said that Peru should produce about 1.8 million tonnes of copper in 2015, which would be about 350,000 tonnes to 400,000 tonnes more than last year.
