ANGLO American, one of the world’s biggest mining companies, said the company’s copper output dropped by 18% to 174,800 tons in the fourth quarter of 2014.
The major reason is because of anticipated grade declines at the Los Bronces and Collahuasi mines in Chile, according to the company.
The company’s nickel output also declined by 34% to 6,700 tons due to a planned rebuild of a furnace at the Barro Alto operation in Brazil.
