According to data of the Brazilian Aluminum Association (ABAL), Brazil imported 306,400 tons of primary aluminum in the first three quarters of 2014, soaring by 292% from 78,100 tons in the same period of last year.
As for the value, the total imports of primary aluminum amounted to US$686 million in this period, an increase of 279% from the same period last year.
