It is reported that Dubai Aluminium has announced plans to invest US$600 million years to upgrade its smelter in the next three years.

Dubai Aluminium''s current annual capacity is 1.1 million tons and will be increased by additional 100,000 tons after the completion of the expansion.

Last year, Dubai Aluminium merged with Emirates Aluminium to beccme the world''s fifth largest aluminum producer, with total value of about US$15 billion.
