According to the data issued by the Mediterranean Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters Association (ADMlB). the Turkishferrous and non-ferrous industry''s exports in October this year increased by 15.6 percent to $1.1 bilion, while the country''s steeexports totaled $1.3 bilion, down by 4.3 percent, both year on year. The two industries'' share in the country''s total exports in thegiven month came to 10 percent.
Germany ranked first among the destinations for Turkey''s iron and steel exports in October with $189 milion. Germany wasfollowed by ltaly with $169 milion and lrag with $119 milion. Looking at the top 10 markets, Turkey''s iron and steel exports to ltalythe UK and Bulgaria increased by 65 percent, 34 percent and 29 percent, respectively.
Commenting on the export performance of the Turkish iron and steel industry in October, Fuat Tosyal, ADMlB president, statedthat the higher demand from target markets such as Europe and Africa in October accelerated the growth of the Turkish iron andsteel industry.
