According to the report from Baker Hughes, as of the week ended December 21st, the number of US’ drilling rigs totaled 1,080 units, up by 9 units from a week ago. Among them, the number of drilling rig for natural gas was down by 1 unit week on week to 197 units; that for oil increased by 10 units week on week to 883 units. The total number had a year-on-year hike of 149 units.
In the same period, the number of Canadian drilling rigs fell by 43 units compared to the previous week, totaling 131 units, decreasing by 79 units compared to the same period a year ago.
The number of drilling rig in North America totaled 1,211 units as of the week ended December 21st, sliding by 34 units from last week, showing a year-on-year growth of 70 units.
