According to the report released by the World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS), in the period from January to October this year, there was an oversupply of 81,000 tons in global copper market, and the oversupply in 2017 was 117,000 tons roughly.
In the first 10 months this year, the production of copper in the world totaled around 17.1 million tons, up by 0.6% compared to the same period in the previous year; that of refined copper was 19.6 million tons roughly, rising by 0.35% year on year. The increase in total production of refined copper was due to the hike in output from Zambia and Chile of 97,000 tons and 44,000 tons respectively.
