According to the data from the International Copper Study Group (ICSG), the global refined copper consumption rose to 23.8 million tons in the period from 2008 to 2017, increasing by 33%.
During the recent 10 years, China’s demand for copper was up by nearly 6.5 million tons. In 2017, China’s copper consumption accounted for 50% of global consumption.
In the recent decade, China’s annual production of refined copper has increased to 8.9 million tons, which was up by more than 2 times.
