India’s major brass and copper scrap commodities prices climbed on the Scrap Register Price Index as on Monday, tracking the weakness in copper futures prices at India''s Multi Commodity Exchange on concerns that sanctions by the United States on aluminium giant Rusal could hamper trade in some 7 percent of the world′s annual supply of the metal.
India''s major brass and copper scrap commodities prices including brass accessories, brass pales scrap, acr copper coil 3/8, cc rod lme ++, copper armature, copper cable scrap, copper cathod lme ++, copper heavy scrap, copper mixed scrap, copper pat, copper shell 40mm, copper super d.rod, copper utensil scrap, copper wire scrap and electrolytic copper strip 25mm climbed on the Scrap Register Price Index as on Monday.
The most active April copper contract on India''s Multi Commodity Exchange settled higher by 0.91 percent to Rs. 442.25 per kilogram on Monday from previous close of Rs. 438.25 per kilogram. Copper Futures at MCX touched an intra-day high of Rs. 442.85 per kilogram and an intra-day low of Rs. 437.70 per kilogram during Monday.
The US on Friday imposed sanctions against Russian businessmen, companies and government officials, striking at associates of President Vladimir Putin in one of Washington′s most aggressive moves to punish Moscow for a range of activities. Shares of United Company Rusal Plc fell 40 percent in Hong Kong on Monday after it was included in the new list.
