It is reported that Congo''s copper production increased by 9.3% to 831,000 tons in the first nine months of the year compared with the same period of last year. Congo was the largest copper producer in Africa.
The Central Bank of Congo also said that gold production rose by 5.7% to 23,000 kilograms in the first nine months of the year. The production growth would help to ease the country''s economic problems. Congo inflation was expected to reach about 50% this year, mainly due to the continued impact of low commodity prices for two years.
