Due to heavy rain, snowing and strong wind in the northern Chile,
The largest copper mines in the world ¨C Escondida and Codelco''s copper operations was suspended - the subsidiary of BHP Billiton.
At the same time, the National Chile Copper Council claimed that they already stopped the mining activity of Chuckquicamata, Radomiro
Tomic and Ministro Hales, however the Copper processing is still running.
Chile is the largest Copper exporter in the world , and most of reserves are located in Atacama Desert. The rain fall in Antofagasta area is marked in severe by National Emergency Association, about 15,000 are effected by power failure and some roads are closed.
