Due to the strike events of Escondida copper miners, Chile''s copper production dropped sharply in February of this year, hit a record low in three years.
Chile''s National Copper Commission (COCHILCO) the latest statistics showed in February of this year, Chile¡¯s copper production totaled 370,900 tons, down by 17.2%, to 448,100 tons compared with last month.
The strike was lasting for up to 43 days, affected by the strike, the country''s copper annual output dropped from 5.79 million tons to 5.6 million tons.
