AFS Corporate Member Waupaca Foundry, a Hitachi Metals company, has partnered with Fox Valley Technical College to educate, train and develop employees.
According to a report from WaupacaNow.com, seven Waupaca employees recently earned associate¡¯s degrees from FVTC¡¯s Quality Engineering Technology program. They studied for almost three years before earning their degrees.
¡°This immersion included a leadership element while developing a critical skill set for our growing company,¡± Kirk Kallio, human resources manager, Waupaca Foundry, said according to the report. ¡°The education was provided at Fox Valley Tech¡¯s Waupaca Regional Center. It¡¯s uplifting to see how these employees grew as people, not just as workers.¡±
Scott Bailey, a graduate of the program, told WaupacaNow.com that ¡°the foundry cares about its employees.¡±
¡°We are now more confident than when we started our journey,¡± he said.
