European wire processor facing difficulty due to import quota measures-The 20th China (Guangzhou) Int’l Spring Industry Exhibition

According to the wire processor Van Merksteijn International in Northern Europe, whose headquarters located in the Netherlands, on account of the sharp consumption of EU import quota, the company might be obliged to stop production at the end of this year.
The main product of the company referred was processed wire for construction use. The group owned factories in the Netherlands, France and Belgium, which used imported material mainly and consumed about 1.2 million tons of wire products annually.
As the company told, because of the quota restriction, their Dutch factory might have to stop production before the end of the year due to material shortage. Calculation showed that up to now, over 70% of EU''s total wire import quota, which was slightly more than 1 million ton, has already been used. Meanwhile, the quota will be overdue in February of 2019.
