Realityworks Inc. has introduced the RealCareer™ Weld Defects Kit and RealCareer Bend Tester for welding educators and trainers.

The kit is designed to teach users how to inspect common welds and how to identify and correct common weld defects and discontinuities by addressing their machine and their technique. It contains 12 plastic models of common defects that can occur when welding and one quality weld.

The kit includes an instructor guide; welding posters; welding defects flashcards; and comprehensive curriculum that covers major aspects of welding, including welding safety, welding types, and applications and weld testing.

The tester and curriculum is designed to teach users how to prepare for weld qualification tests, including conducting a bend test and qualifying a bend-tested weld. This destructive weld testing machine enables users to practice for qualification tests on up to 3/8-in. metal to prepare for becoming certified welders.
