Advanced Heat Treat Corp., Waterloo, Iowa, marks its 35th anniversary in 2016. In 1981, Gary Sharp started the company with 12 investors, two employees, and two UltraGlow® ion nitride units.
Today the company provides heat-treat and metallurgical services to companies worldwide. Processes include ion nitriding, ferritic nitrocarburizing, gas nitriding, UltraOx®, through-hardening, carburizing, carbonitriding, and induction hardening. It employs 170 people at four U.S. locations.
