Metal fabrication firm DeWys Mfg. Inc., Marne, Mich., has hired Ryan Crandell as weld engineer overseeing all manual and robotic weld processes.

Crandell has a bachelor’s degree in welding engineering technology and an associate degree in welding technology from Ferris State University, as well as an Associate of Science degree from Grand Rapids Community College. While in school he had a yearlong internship at DeWys Mfg., where he worked to improve automation capabilities. He previously worked as a production welder for nine years.
