Area development reported that MIG Steel Fabrication, a leader in steel fabrication, will invest USD 1.5 million to expand its manufacturing complex, midway between Memphis and Nashville along I-4, in Lexington, Tennessee.

Investment in MIG Steel¡¯s Lexington facility will go toward purchasing new machinery equipment to meet growing demand. The company will hire welders, pipe fitters and salaried support staff.

Mr Andre Gist CEO of Manufacturers Industrial Group said that ¡°We are extremely pleased to receive training assistance from TNECD. In this competitive and scarce skill trade environment, these funds are crucial to develop workers needed for our business.¡±

Mr Ted Townsend COO of TNECD said that ¡°Manufacturers Industrial Group has grown to become one of Tennessee¡¯s largest employers and it is very encouraging that its subsidiary, MIG Steel Fabrication, is planning to further invest and create jobs in its hometown of Lexington. Expansions by existing companies show businesses have confidence in the strength of Tennessee¡¯s workforce and we¡¯d like to thank MIG Steel Fabrication for its continued role in Henderson County¡¯s economy.¡±

Henderson County Mayor Dan Hughes said that ¡°Any news concerning the creation of additional jobs in our county is certainly welcome news to the people who live here. We appreciate the expansion here so much that our governments and people stand ready to assist in any way. We look forward to continuing our working relationship with MIG Steel Fabrication in the future as it grows and develops."

Teresa Jones, Executive Director of the Lexington-Henderson County Alliance, said that ¡°We are excited to partner with the Tennessee Department of Economic & Community Development as we assist MIG Steel Fabrication in expanding and creating new jobs for our citizens. MIG Steel Fabrication¡¯s decision to invest further in Henderson County by creating new jobs within its facility is a real reason to celebrate, and we look forward to this company''s continued growth in Lexington for many years to come."
