According to data released by Korea Iron and Steel Association, the country imported 22.74 million tons of steel products in 2014, up by 17% from the last year.
Among them, 13.4 million tons were from China, soaring by 34.9% from the previous year; 7.31 million tons imports were from Japan, down by 5.3% year on year.
During January to November, South Korea imported a total of 20.893 million tons of steel products, an increase of 17.5% year on year.
