The US Steel explosion occured on 21 September, three days after the fire at the Nucor plant on 18 September.

Both companies are conducting investigations into the incidents. An ArcelorMittal spokesperson did not disclose details of the people injured or the extent of their injuries. 

The Nucor fire was attended by ''multiple fire agencies'' according to news reports.
