The company has signed up as a participant of the UN Global Compact, which means that it has committed itself voluntarily to aligning its operations and strategy with 10 universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. It also means that NLMK will take action in support of the UN’s sustainable development goals and will report on its progress on an annual basis.

The UN Global Compact was launched in 2000 and has more than 13,000 participants in over 160 countries, and more than 80 Local Networks.
