The Mexican Ministry of Economy has taken the decision this week about tariffs on imports of certain products such as steel, footwear and textiles during the next six months to protect domestic industries from unfair practices.
For the case of steel, the 15% tariff safeguards on steel imports established in 2015 will be reactivated, according to Ernesto Acevedo, the Undersecretary of Industry and Commerce. For footwear and textile, the Ministry of Economy planned a rate of 25% to 30%
