Mexico to continue AD investigation on steel plate imports from Italy & Japan- The 20th China (Guangzhou) Int’l Plate metal, Bar, wire, Metal Processing &Setting

Mexican Secretariat of Economy (SE) recently announced to continue the investigation of anti-dumping on steel plate imports from Italy and Japan based on the request from AHMSA.
However, Mexican importers involved, such as Aceros Fercom, Andritz Hydro, Grupo Acerero, and Japanese Mitsui Group revealed their objections. Besides, Japanese JFE Holdings, Kobe Steel and Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation (NSSMC) said that the imports from Japan had different quality from that from Mexico, so the two products couldn’t compete with each other.
The products involved were under customs codes of 7208.51.01, 7208.51.02, 7208.51.03, 7208.52.01 and 7225.40.99.
