According to the statistics, the hot-rolled steel plate imports into Turkey fell by 19.6% year-on-year to around 423,000 tons in March. The imports from Russia and Brazil have been drastically reduced, while the imports from European steel mills have increased significantly.
Turkish largest origin of hot-rolled steel plate was Russia, whose supply decreased by 57.2% year-on-year to around 117,000 tons. The Netherlands ranked second in the imports, and its supply increased from 4,400 tons in the same period last year to 50,100 tons. Ukraine occupied the third place, the supply volume increased by 47.2% to around 39,000 tons; India was the fourth, with supply increasing from 48 tons to 35,000 tons.
The imports fro Brazil fell to 9 tons from 38,000 tons. The imports from China, Slovakia, and the United Kingdom fell to 2,900 tons, 1,300 tons and 2.5 tons respectively this March, compared with 20,000 tons, 13,000 tons and 10,000 tons year-on-year.
