Chinese steel inventories remain at high level- The 19th China (Guangzhou) Int’l Plate metal, Bar, wire, Metal Processing &Setting Equipment Exhibition

According to the data from the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA), Chinese social inventories of five major steel products in 22 cities totaled around 15.4 million tons in March, up by 3.7 million tons from March 2017.
Among them, the inventory of rebar increased the most, and followed by wire rods.
At the end of March, the steel enterprise inventories from the members of CISA amounted to around 14.38 million tons, decreasing by 2.83% from the end of February but increasing by 19.8% from the beginning of this year.
The sharp increase in steel social and enterprise inventories showed a warning to the related companies to focus on production control and destocking.
