Japanese blast furnaces mills began to bargain for the galvanized steel plate shipments to Asia in early February, raising prices by US$20-30/ton from the current price and possibly exceeding US$ 800/ton CFR in the future.
Due to the high market demand for hot rolled pickled coils and cold rolled steel plate, it caused the output of galvanized steel sheet to reduce. In addition, some of the mills recently had regular maintenance for their equipment. Therefore, it might have a further shortage of the galvanized steel sheet, and the price was showing an upward trend.
In addition, the strong demand from the automotive industry, and home appliances remained strong after the Christmas sales season ended.
