US Fasteners Imports from China Decline in the First Seven Months-The 18th China(Guangzhou)Int¡¯l Fastener & Equipment Exhibition

    US imports of fasteners from China declined 21.4 percent year-over-year in total value during Jan.-Jul. of 2016 compared with imports at the same period of 2015. The total fastener imports of U.S. from China reached $624.6 million compared with that of $794.2 million in 2015.

The top fastener products, by HS code, the United States imports from China during the first seven months of 2016 were threaded nuts of iron or steel (HS 7318.16.0085), self-tapping screws (HS 7318.14.1060), and bolts and their nuts (HS 7318.15.2095).

On the contrary, the total value of US fasteners headed to China has increased by 6.5 percent year-over-year during the first seven months of 2016 to $108.2 million compared with that of $101.7 million in the same period of 2015.

The top three fastener products, by HS coded, the United States send to China in the first seven months of 2016 were nuts of iron or steel (HS 7318.16.0000), bolts and their nuts (HS 7318.15.2000), and threaded fasteners (HS 7318.15.9000). Nuts exports totaled $20.7 million but actually declined by nearly 20 percent year-over-year. Bolts totaled $24.5 million in the first seven months of this year and increased 22 percent year-over-year.
