Japan’s stainless mills to start price negotiation for May with Asian buyers--The 15th China(Guangzhou)Int'l Stainless Steel Industry Exhibition 3/14/2014 Stainless Steel Industry Exhibition
The Japanese stainless steel mills set to start price negotiation for stainless steel cold rolled products for May shipments with Asian buyers.
It’s learned that most of the Japanese stainless steelmakers have sought to raise prices by US$50~100/ton in order to reflect higher nickel prices.
South Korea’s Posco announced to leave its prices unchanged for March and China’s Tisco and Baosteel Stainless also kept their prices steady in Mach. Under these circumstances, buyers are still watching the market.
Thus, the stainless steelmakers in Asia are expected to raise prices successfully if nickel prices continue edging higher.
