Japanese stainless steel scrap imports & exports statistics in Nov 2018-The 20th China(Guangzhou)Int'l Stainless Steel Industry Exhibition

According to the statistics, Japanese stainless steel scrap imports totaled around 4,700 tons in November 2018, down by 24.96% month on month. Among them, most of scrap imports went from South Korea with around 2,100 tons, down by 25.22% month on month; followed by the US with 900 tons roughly; followed by Taiwan with around 840 tons.
In the first 11 months in 2018, Japanese imports of stainless steel scrap totaled around 76,000 tons, down by 25.66% year on year. Among them, the imports from South Korea were around 37,000 tons, a year-on-year reduction of 34.86%; those from Taiwan were around 18,400 tons; those from the US were around 9,500 tons.
In addition, Japanese stainless steel scrap exports totaled 14,000 tons in November 2018, down by 2.21% month on month. The exports amounted to 175,000 tons roughly in January to November of 2018, a year-on-year decline of 0.93%.
Among the exports in the first 11 months last year, the exports to South Korea accounted for the largest proportion, totaling around 98,000 tons, down by 10.42% year on year; followed by Taiwan with 27,500 tons; followed by China with 16,600 tons.
