US re-examines POSCO offset tariffs to 55.31%-The 20th China(Guangzhou)Int'l Stainless Steel Industry Exhibition

The US imposed a 3.89% anti-dumping duty on Pohang iron and steel company (POSCO) and the countervailing duty by 57.04%. On October 31st, the US Department of Commerce (USDOC) re-examined and decided to reduce the countervailing duty to 55.31%.
Due to high tariffs, POSCO''s hot-rolled exports to the US this year have fallen sharply. The original export volume of POSCO to the US was about 400,000 tons; this year it has not reached 300,000 tons.
POSCO said it will actively cooperate with the investigation in order to obtain lower offset tariffs in the final trial, and try to reduce anti-dumping and countervailing duty tariffs to increase exports to the US next year.
If the US determined to maintain a lower offsetting tariff in the final review, POSCO was expected to resume its export volume from the first half of next year.
