De-Sta-Co has added a sheet metal gripper to its Accelerate® collection of lightweight tooling. The compact tool features a patent-pending, nonprotruding jaw design that eliminates the need for additional clearance around the stamping die set.

The modular 0.6-lb. gripper offers 33-ms grip-and-release actuation time and delivers 1,000-N grip force while consuming up to 70 percent less air per cycle.

The bottom jaw features an integrated part-present sensor, while a side-mounted, double-blank, adjustable sensor prevents incorrect material pickups. A side-mounted, optical-material sensor option works with all metals, including aluminum.
