According to the statistics, the sales volume of South Korean galvanized steel sheet totaled around 584,000 tons this October, down by 8.7% compared to the same month a year ago. The domestic shipments were around 338,000 tons, a year-on-year decline of 10.9%. The exports amounted to 246,000 tons, down by 5.5% year on year.
The export of galvanized steel sheet in South Korea was active in September. However, the exports have showed a significant drop since October as the export quota to the EU was almost used up.
In addition, South Korean galvanized steel sheet suppliers worried about the lower exported quotations from Chinese steel mills.
