Chinese steel giant Baosteel has informed its customer to raise its tinplate domestic prices by RMB900/ton for the fourth quarter this year. In August, Baosteel¡¯s tinplate price rose by RMB150/ton; the prices up by RMB250/ton and RMB500/ton for September again.
Tinplate has become the world''s unprofitable product. In order to improve profits, Baosteel has decided to raise its tinplate prices which has a significant impact on the market in the region.
